Dr. Werner Ponikwar Becomes a Member of the Federal Government's National Hydrogen Council

Dortmund / Berlin, July 9, 2026 – Dr. Werner Ponikwar, CEO of thyssenkrupp nucera, has been appointed as a new member of the German government’s National Hydrogen Council (NWR). The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy announced the council’s new membership today. With his appointment, Dr. Werner Ponikwar brings the perspective of a globally leading provider of electrolysis technologies to the council, which advises the German government on the further development of hydrogen policy.
