Carsten Schmitt

Carsten has more than 20 years’ professional experience in chemical engineering. He works for thyssenkrupp since 2005 and held leading positions in engineering and management for design, development and manufacturing of cells and processes for the electrochemical industry. After six years as head of the design department for electrolysis plants, he took over the Product Order Execution department for Energy Storage and Hydrogen (ESH) from 2017 until his move to Japan. At the beginning of 2020, Carsten Schmitt took over as CEO and Representative Director of tkUCE (now thyssenkrupp nucera) Japan and hold this position until End of June 2023. Carsten has been responsible for nucera’s Research and development in Germany since October 2023.
